1901 Strathmartine

18th October.  Administration Block Pavilion ready for occupancy of 200 children.  Dining Hall, Kitchen, Laundry, School and Cottages built. Old buildings remained in use.

Opening of new buildings, which included an extension to the boys’ day room, “modern lavatory accommodation, a large and adequate schoolroom, and a dormitory for 16 children” – all at a cost of £2000+. These new facilities were immediately found to be inadequate to the need.
